FAQ

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is treatment provided by specially trained health professionals who are working to help reduce your pain and restore your mobility after an injury or illness, or from a chronic condition. The treatment is delivered at the clinic, although it can also include a home exercise component.

Do I need a referral/prescription from my doctor?

Depends. While many of our patients do come as medical referrals, you are welcome to come to our Sparta Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy on your own. However, some insurance plans require a prescription, but the front desk will always verify your plan before your first visit to determine if it is a requirement.

Does your clinic specialize in any areas?

We have experience with all types of orthopedic related conditions, including sports related injuries and surgical and nonsurgical cases.

We teach strength and flexibility exercises with an emphasis on regaining movements required to perform daily activities.

What can I expect from my treatments?

Our goal is to not only get you back to your previous levels of activity, but also to help you prevent injuries from recurring.

Will you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance coverage, workers compensation, medicare and no-fault

How many treatments will I have to have?

After a thorough assessment and diagnosis your physiotherapists will prescribe a course of treatment. It is difficult to predict in advance exactly how many treatments are needed since there are a number of factors ranging from the severity of the injury of condition that needs treatment to the strength and wellness of the patient. Your physiotherapist will continue to communicate your progress with you each step of the way.
